STAB HIGH | 2019
An International Surfing Event Held Mostly in the Air
Stab High is Stab Magazine’s annual surf competition held at the BSR Wave Pool in Waco Texas. As Lead Producer, I managed the event including international travel, accommodations, scheduling, catering, athlete contracts, and risk management. No matter how much preplanning, the day of an event holds unexpected outcomes. I quite literally had to remain the calm within the storm. A storm swept through Waco, Texas leaving behind an unforgettable experience for both guests and competitors.

Event Director:
Stab High’s Ladybirds
The first-ever girls aerial surfing competition!!!
As Event Director, I was a mentor to the girls who competed. I was with them the entire way, from inviting them and being their point of contact to hanging with them in the hotel lobby the night before, and giving them a pep talk before they went out into the water.
Sierra Kerr, Sky Brown, Bella Kenworthy, and Caitlin Simmers were the first girls to fly high in a formal completion. This is groundbreaking and something for all generations of female surfers to look up to, myself included.
